Watch a Level 2 FSMQ session
The session is part of a course for the Using algebra, functions and graphs FSMQ. It involves estimation of length and standard form with learners in an inner city FE College. The recording is one of a number of resources that were designed to support the development of generic skills, knowledge and understanding of trainee teachers in the lifelong learning sector. It includes four excerpts from the session as well as recordings in which the tutor and learners reflect on the session and the learning that has taken place.
To watch the session, go to QIA and have a look at Samina’s session.
The cards used in Excerpt 3 of the session are from the Standards Unit's mathematics resource. They are listed as B(N4) on Gold dust resources.
Many other useful mathematics and numeracy resources can be downloaded from this webpage.
The full Standards Unit resource file which includes more activities for number, algebra, shape and space, statistics and calculus is available online on the QIA Excellence Gateway. The resources used in Excerpt 3 of the FSMQ session are in N4 on page 22 in the Mostly Number section.
